The Nissan Leaf, the first all-electric car slated for mass production, was displayed in Bellevue on Dec. 10, 2009. Bellevue's Environmental Stewardship Initiative team was on hand to discuss the city's own green efforts. The event was sponsored by Puget Sound Energy, the Bellevue Collection and the C-7 New Energy Partnership, which includes Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, Renton and Sammamish. The C7 cities and PSE are working with Nissan to develop a battery-charging station infrastructure in the area for electric cars.
